Devine Instrument Notes:
- Devine Retribution
- use either wood or styroafoam circles
- for the fire, orange felt and a red fabric
- the red fabric should be light material. something similar to silk maybe??
- in order to keep the red fabric in place and stiff-ish, use hot glue on the inside and perhaps some wire
- the Devine Retribution should have some sort of backpack strap attacked that can hide under the Obi... maybe part of the Obiage???
- Devine Retribution will probably cover the knot in the back of the Obi.
- Devout Beads
- Devout Beads will be more on a larger scale.
- Devout Beads will be on a string with knots on the ends of each bead to keep them in place.
- Devout Beads will probably be made out of clay and hand painted
- While only 6 is needed for the Devout Bead necklace, it would be good to make extra beads just in case
- Tsumugari
- Tsumugari will probably end up having a wooden base and use craftfoam or paint on the outside
- Tsumugari will be last item made
- Tsumugari will have to be hand held, no scabbard to hold the sword
Clothing Notes:
- The clothing of the kimono will either be a light fabric or a softer fabric
- There will either be 2 or 3 robes worn total (under robe, a red robe, and the top robe)
- the red robe will be a little longer on the sleeves and will be made of a light fabric. it will have some sewn in strings to help keep it together (kind of like a hanfu). no pattern on the red robe.
- the under robe will probably be ignored depending on budget and time.
- The design on the sleeves and the main part of the kimono will be hand died. I'll be testing out some fabric dyes and how to hand dye fabrics before I decide on how the designs on the kimono will be dyed.
- Obi knot will either be a bow or the flat knot (not sure the name of it) depending on how the Devine Retribution rests.
- there will be a tail used for this costume. the tail will be attached to a sash underneath the obi.
- Issun will be a tiny clay figure
- Issun will have a base at his feet to help keep him standing
- The only part of issun not made of clay will be the attenae on his hat (wire) and his cape (fabric)
- Issun will be attached to either a hair clip or velcrow
- velcrow will only be if the kimono is made out of fabric that the velcrow can attack to
- Issun will be have a white base from the clay and hand painted to match his full design
- I'll be making a couple of Issun figures just in case he falls and breaks or if I loose him
Make-Up Notes:
- The make up is taking some inspiration from Geisha make up
- the eye make up will be more to the designs on Amaterasu's eyes in the game
- Lips and face will be done in the fashion of a Geisha
- while i probably wont be able to get the actual make up that is used for Geisha, I'll probably find a white foundation or face paint for the foundation/base
- Eye liner will be a thick red line around the eye, and a thin black line.
- little to no wing with the black, large wings on both sides of the eyes with the red
- if red eyeliner wont work, red facepaint
- The lips will be done with regular lipstick
- the face will probably be set with baby powder
- while i usually use hair spray for setting make up, i'll use baby powder if I don't use a lot of facepaint.
- if while at a convention the make up starts to wear out, I'll redo what is messing up and set with hair spray
Wig Notes:
- use a basic long white wig for the cosplay
- the sides of the hair just around the ears will be pulled up into a bun in the back of the head
- the bangs will be worn down
- red hair dye will be used for the design on the bangs (see here for design)
- if extra hair is needed to do the bun/bangs, it will be bought and sewn on appropriately
- hair pieces:
- the side flower hair pieces (see here for design) will be attacked like a regular hair clip
- the back hair piece (see here for design) will be bought online. this will be attached to the back between the head and the bun.
- the wig will need to reach the top of the obi, however not reach below the obi
