I actually did a make up test for once in my life, but it was mostly an excuse to mess around with the ears and to start working on the wig for it. I don't really have much done for the actual costume in terms of the hat I had to improvise for now. But yeah.
For the actual make up I really just put on some foundation and used a little bit of darker eye shadow on the nose and on the edge of the brow. I'm not a make up guru or anything, but that's what I do really when I do make up make up. I did the eye shadow thing around the nose mostly because I wanted to eliminate the look of the 'ball point' end of my nose, and to help it look a little straighter than it is
With the wig, I had an old blonde wig that I got a couple years ago and I dont remember what it was for but I still had it. It was longer than desired so I decided to cut it a little, and it'll need some fixing in the back (that's not really shown in the pics), but other than that I'm pretty happy with the wig.
Now with the ears, I went onto Amazon and found some (here), and attached them onto my ears with spirit gum. They come on rather easily, but you can easily see through them if the light hits them from behind, so I'll probably put some product on the inside to help fix that. And here's what they look like.
So yeah you can tell in the last photo where the fake ear overlaps my ears, and granted it's not really all that noticeable when the hair is in the way but because I'm weird I decided to test out a little experiment with some flesh latex on the edge of the ear to see if it'll help hide it.
So the flesh latex took a couple of layers, but that ended up being the final result. I didn't want to go much further in the layers, and it seemed to hide it well enough. Even though you can tell with the color differences what's what (or maybe not if the photo doesn't show it well, but you can tell in person), it's nothing that I'm fully worried about.
So yeah, next up should be the costume and soon after the props.
